Since we are a public charter school, KIPP South Fulton Academy does not choose students based on academic achievement, disciplinary records, test scores, or any other traditional selection criteria. Instead, all students zoned for Fulton County Schools are given an equal chance to take advantage of the college-preparatory opportunity that KIPP offers.
Parents who are interested in joining the team and family at KIPP South Fulton Academy should submit an enrollment form. The open enrollment period will begin after January 5, 2010; at the end of open enrollment, we will choose students for admission by lottery. The first 90 rising fifth graders picked at random will be offered a position in the Class of 2022. We expect to have a much smaller number of positions available for our sixth and seventh grade, but those will also be chosen by lottery among eligible students who submit enrollment forms during the open enrollment period. We do not expect to admit any new eighth grade students. After the lottery, interested parents can still submit enrollment forms; their children are added to our waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis.
